a serene heaven

natural beauty delicious food local sake
the natural beauty of the open-air pools, river and forest is excellent. the kaiseki food was delicious and unique. i tried their tasty local sake and bought a couple of bottles from the gift shop.
the onsen looks as if it has been abandoned and is continuing to make money from tourists with what it has.

amazing views river view traditional meal unpleasant odor thin futon cockroach presence
The outdoor onsen provided amazing views of the trees. I loved the river view from the onsen area. I appreciated the large and delicious traditional Japanese meal provided. Breakfast and dinner were carefully prepared with dietary restrictions considered.
The room had an unpleasant odor that filled the space, though the staff addressed it promptly. The futon was a bit too thin. Sleeping on it was not very comfortable. I found some cockroaches inside the structure during the evening, a thing which bothered me a little.

free transportation yukata selection dinner service
The shuttle provided free transportation from the train station. Staff assisted with yukata selection (I appreciated this, as it was my first time in a Japanese onsen). They also made the beddings while guests were at dinner.
The hotel looks a little worn. Some minor maintenance would be beneficial.
